Setting up FTP with Strato

Important: Strato uses SFTP (port 22)

Strato only supports SFTP, not regular FTP. In IT Live, check SFTP / FTPS.

Steps

1. Log in to strato.nl.
2. Go to Package Management → Customer Login.
3. Menu Security → SFTP/SSH Password.
4. Set an SFTP password (for the first time) or reset an existing password.

Details for IT Live

• Host: ssh.strato.de or sXXXXXXXXXX.ssh.w2.strato.hosting (see Strato customer login → Hosting)
• Port: 22
• Username: your Strato customer number (e.g. su640823)
• Password: the one you just set
• SFTP/FTPS: ON

Note

The Strato password for SFTP is not the same as your customer login password — you need to set up a separate SSH/SFTP password.
